''Torn'', previously known as ''Torn City'' before the change to ''TORN'', is a free, online text-based massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) created by British online gaming entrepreneur Joe Chedburn. The game was launched in 2003. In 2010, over 24,000 people played daily, and over 1 million accounts existed in total. ''Torn'' is a virtual world based around gang violence. Like many RPGs, players start at the bottom of the ladder and make their way to the top by earning experience points. The game focuses on crimes and player versus player combat as a way of earning XP or experience points. ''Torn'' uses the "freemium" business model: players can purchase in-game benefits in exchange for payments, which are termed "donations". The donations can be made by either PayPal, Bitcoins, Amazon or the recently resurrected mobile phone method. Another form of donation which was recently added was the subscription service. You are allowed to create a monthly subscription to Torn and you will receive a ''Donator Pack'' monthly, as well as a yearly subscription in which you will receive a Donator Pack lasting for a total of 267 days. The separately sold versions of these "Donator Packs", containing i.a. 50 "points"(+multibuy bonuses), a longer energy bar, faster refills and the possibility to make use of a friend- and blacklist system, are given to players as items. This makes them sellable/tradable to other players in the game itself. The subscribed versions of these are directly credited to the "subscriber". "Torn 2.0" or RESPO was announced by Joe Chedburn in early 2013 (Talks of this had started in 2012) said that the game would receive a complete overhaul at both the front end (graphically) and back end (engine). This has caused many positive and negative responses from the games players. Torn 2.0 (RESPO) was successfully deployed on the 23rd of June 2014. The first phase was focused on the graphics of the game and introduced some new engine aspects, such as the city map. Updates of old and new features are being added to Torn gradually while bugs fixed. Features yet to be released are a new attacking system and a new mission engine. ==Money== Money can be earned in Torn through different methods. The most common options are: committing crimes, mugging other players, earning a daily wage by getting a job or trading. Savings can be stored away in a vault of an expensive property, in a bank where your savings can earn interest or in the Cayman Islands where you can use the special Off shore banking at the cost of 3% of your deposit. You can also invest in the stock market where you can buy and sell shares of companies as well as receiving perks for holding a specific number of shares of a company. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Torn (online game)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
